Welcome to the 'Pearl of Africa'

Welcome to Uganda, the ‘Pearl of Africa’! On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will find your Savannah Wings representative waiting to greet you. They will then drive you to your accommodation for the night a short distance away. Here you’ll be able to freshen up, relax and sleep before you begin your safari tomorrow.

Tonight's Accommodation - The Boma, Entebbe town.

Day 1 - Crater Lake Fields

After breakfast you’ll be driven 20km north to Kajjansi airstrip, to board your private aircraft and fly to Fort Portal town, a 1hr 30min flight. It’s a short drive into the Ndali-Kasenda crater-lake fields to your intimate lodge perched on the rim of an extinct volcano. The crater has now filled with water to become the breath taking Lake Nyinambuga in a landscape dotted with crater lakes, under the shadow of the Rwenzori mountain range. Spend of the rest of the day relaxing at your private cottage or if you prefer, take a guide to ramble through the crater-lake fields and even take a dip. After dinner, you’ll sleep to the sounds of the crickets and frogs calling out from the lake below.

Tonight's Accommodation - Ndali Lodge, Ndali-Kasenda Crater Lakes.

Day 2 - A Chimps Day

Close to your lodge is Kibale Forest, famous for having the largest concentration of chimps in Africa. A Uganda Wildlife Authority habituation team will give you an orientation on tracking the chimpanzees in the forest. Your aim is to track down the chimps through dense rainforest once they descend from their previous nights nests. Once you have found them, you’ll have the day to observe their natural behavior in the wild as they feed, socialise, nurse their young, relax, patrol and display their prowess, before watching them weave their nests and retire for the night into the forest canopy. By dusk you’ll leave the rainforest and head back to your lodge to relax for the evening to the sounds of the crickets and frogs calling out from the lake below.

Tonight's Accommodation - Ndali Lodge, Ndali-Kasenda Crater Lakes.

Day 3 - Heading Home

Spend the morning relaxing at your crater-lake lodge and take a dip in the swimming pool with views across the rolling hills. After lunch make the return flight back to Kajjansi airstrip a 1hr 30min flight, where your Savannah Wings representative will be waiting to take you to your accommodation. You’ll be provided with a day room to prepare you for your flight home this evening. Before dinner and your flight, drive down to the lakeshores for a boat cruise around the inlets and bays, with light refreshments served to you as you watch the sunset over Lake Victoria.
